I'm Andrei Atanasov, a bilingual essayist from Constanța, Romania. This is my little corner of the internet.
I've been writing since 2019, and began publishing online about three years ago, on Substack, where I kept a literary newsletter called Practice Space. I've also published personal essays and short stories in various online and print journals, including Short Reads, Eunoia Review, Flash Fiction Magazine, Ficțiunea, Revista Zugzwang, Sky Island, and others. In 2025, one of my essays was chosen for Revista Zugzwang's annual anthology.
Enough about me. Let's talk about Ants. My goal with this project is to step away from the noise of modern online spaces and return to something slower, more deliberate, an old-school place where I can write about important things and send my words out to an audience that truly wants to read them, without competing in a weekly death match for attention. To that end, I promise to respect your time and your intelligence. My essays will be brief, no longer than 750 words most of the time, and will approach their subjects in a way I hope is new, or at least thought-provoking.
